"Richard had been recommended to me by a friend who enjoyed working with him as her buyer agent. I had been used to paying very low rent for many, many years and was really nervous about making the commitment to owning a place and paying more than double. So I kept my purchase price low even though my mortgage lender said I could afford a lot more. And, the geographical area in which I was looking was really small because I needed to be close to a particular train line to get to work. This made the whole condo hunting process extremely limiting and a real challenge for Richard. Also, I had to go out of town a lot, so the hunt dragged on for months, during which time I made several offers but was unwilling to come up to the price the seller wanted. Richard just hung in there, constantly calling me to go see new listings the day they hit the MLS. I must admit I was a little "rigid," but I was always comfortable with Richard working as my agent."
